- 1990: Medical degree, University of Naples Medical School (Italy)
- 1991-1993: Collaboration with the Department of Paediatric Surgery of the CHU La Timone Enfants, in Marseille (France).
- 1993: Researcher at the Institute of Gynaecological and Paediatric Sciences at the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro (Italy)
- 1995: PhD in Pathophysiology of Paediatric Surgery at the University of Verona (Italy)
- 1995: Diploma National de Résident Etranger du Collège National Hospitalier et Universitaire de Chirurgie Pédiatrique, at the Necker Enfants Malades Hospital in Paris (France)
- 1999: Post-graduate degree in Paediatric Surgery at the University of Naples Medical School (Italy)
- 2000: Associate Professor in Pediatric Surgery at University of Sassari (Italy)
- Since 1996: Member of the EITS (European Institute of Telesurgery) Board of Lecturers
- Editorial Board member of: Pediatric Endosurgery, Journal de Coelio-chirurgie, Italian Journal of Pediatric Surgical Sciences.
- Author of more than 170 original articles.
- Committee member of several scientific boards, invited speaker at several national and international scientific meetings, with over 200 oral presentations.
